Death Valley and Grand Canyon (February 2011)
Along with many fellow early risers, I stood mesmerized at the play of the light and the shadows:
It was an awesome show, to say the least! Contented, I hiked back to the hotel.

I relaxed in the lounge area, reading news paper for the first time in a week! Then I had a hearty breakfast, remembering the wonderful sights that I had just experienced.
I packed up and checked out of the great hotel.
I drove out to a number of lookout points for the last shots...
... and then left the Village for a long (nearly 5 hour) drive to the Las Vegas Airport for a late evening flight back to San Jose. I heard that another storm moved in on the following day. I was very fortunate with the weather throughout this trip.
